Luxury automotive manufacturer Jaguar Land Rover today revealed a sneak preview of the next generation of its technologically advanced vehicles at the Dubai International Motor Show. Regional reveals included the Jaguar C-X17 Crossover Concept and the dynamic all-aluminium Project 7 roadster from Jaguar which debuted beside the model it was based on, Jaguar’s acclaimed F-TYPE.
Visitors to the five day motor show are among the first in the world to get up close and personal with Land Rover’s exclusive Range Rover Autobiography Black Edition – the pinnacle of desirability that brings even higher levels of refinement to the world’s finest and most capable luxury SUV.
Taking place from 5 to 9 November at Dubai World Trade Centre, the Dubai International Motor Show will also play host to the world’s first 9 speed gearbox, which comes as standard in the new 2014 Range Rover Evoque. The new Limited Edition Land Rover Defender LXV will also join the luxury manufacturer’s strongest and most comprehensive vehicle line-up to date boasting enhanced features, innovative technologies and new levels of luxury, comfort and performance.
Breaking world records and regional challenges is nothing new for the manufacturer of the fastest, most dynamic and most responsive Land Rover ever, and today saw the completion of the All-New Range Rover Sport ‘Empty Quarter’ desert crossing challenge, which has set a new record for fastest time across one of the most treacherous terrains in the world. The record breaking vehicle was delivered this morning to the Jaguar Land Rover stand by the challenge team, led by Spanish off-road racer Moisès Torrallardona. Moi, as he is often referred to, competed in the Dakar Rally for ten successive years, with a best finish of 6th overall, and has also finished 2nd in the Trans-oriental Rally – from St. Petersburg to the Great Wall of China – back in 2008. The champion driver will be on the stand today to tell visitors and fans about the challenge and how he and his experienced team made it through one of the world’s toughest driving terrains.
This year sees Jaguar celebrate the 25th year anniversary of its dynamic “R” badge range, and visitors to Dubai International Motor Show 2013 are amongst the first in the region to view the new flagship Jaguar XJR sports saloon and the Jaguar XFR-S, the fastest, most powerful and agile sports saloon Jaguar has ever built. The 550PS XJR, and the XFR-S joins Jaguar’s class-leading 2014 model year line-up which includes the Jaguar XKR and the first full-blooded Jaguar sports car to be launched in more than 50 years; the award winning all-aluminium two-seater Jaguar F-TYPE.
With Jaguar Land Rover sales up 38% from January to September 2013 vs. the same period last year, the company is looking forward to further growth with the introduction of its technologically advanced 2014 model year line-up which includes the refreshed Range Rover Evoque, the Land Rover LR4 which boasts a new V6 supercharged petrol engine, and the new Land Rover LR2.
